  1. Maybe you could be thankful tomorrow, after you've whacked about five things off this list? Okay, so let's prioritize. I'm drawing on my vast intelligence and deep intuition and will assert that your first priority might be--correct me if I'm wrong--tossing some laundry in. How long does a cycle take before you need to shift it to the dryer (and then put the next load into the washer)? Let's say twenty minutes. Use that time to place a couple calls. Make an appointment for your breast exam and to get your hair colored. Once you toss that first load in the dryer, go to the bathroom that contains your upper-lip waxing supplies. Do that. While you're there, scrub the toilet. After that, wash B's inhaler.

Keep the laundry moving through. Fold it while you listen to the kids' stories from school later in the day.

Look forward to the kisses, hugs, and wine as a reward for getting a few things knocked off your list.

Tomorrow is another day, as my old pal Scarlett used to say; take care of another five items then. Save file cabinet reorganization until February.

  3. I had someone at church recently while taking hands in song, comment on how soft my hands were and ask, "Don't you ever work?"

Something like your list ran through my mind, and had I not been in church, she might have been strangled with my soft lovely hands.

P.S. Thank you for reminding me to put deodorant on.
